Bei der 50. Austragung des Hypo-Meeting in Götzis konnte sich Mehrkämpfer Simon Ehammer (25) gleich über mehrere Erfolge freuen. Er stellte mit 8575 Punkten einen neuen Schweizerrekord auf, verbesserte eine persönliche Bestleistung, qualifizierte sich sowohl im Weitsprung als auch im Zehnkampf offiziell für die WM in Tokio und nicht zuletzt schaffte er es in einem hervorragend besetzten Teilnehmerfeld auf Rang 3. Team-Kollege Andrin Huber schaffte die Qualifikation für die U23-EM in Bergen souverän.
